FAQ's
A few of the questions we hear the most.Frequently Asked Questions
How many bartenders will I need for my party/event?
Based on our experience, we recommend one bartender for every 50 guests.
Do your services cost more than a bartending package add-on from a caterer or other multi-service company?
Our service prices are comparable and, in some cases, less expensive. When you compare the cost of all the goods (mixers and garnishes), glassware, and actual service needed for the bar, the prices will be almost identical. We don’t have additional service fees buried in the bid.
Do you offer coffee or tea service?
No, we do not offer coffee or tea service at this time.
Do you do tastings?
Yes, when you purchase our Supercall or Lace package we do custom tastings for up to four people.
Do you charge sales tax?
Because services are not taxed and we are providing a service, we do not charge sales tax.
What other fees can I expect?
One of the reasons people like working with us is because we don’t have hidden fees or nickle and dime you. There are two costs; the cost of the package you choose and the cost of liquor and ice, which due to Colorado laws, must be purchased directly from a retailer.
We loved the bartender that worked our last party, can we request him/her/they again?
Yes. We are happy to accommodate your request if he/she/they is available.
How do I know that I can trust your bartenders?
All of The Parlor bartenders are TIPS certified, 5 Star – 5 Diamond trained, and have 10 years or more experience in the industry. They are all vetted by Casey & Michaela and covered by The Parlor insurance.
What will the bartenders wear?
All Parlor bartenders dress in black with a grey apron.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, we require 50% upfront to secure the booking.
What forms of payment do you take?
We accept all major credit cards, cash and check.
Will there be a gratuity included in my package pricing? If not, how does the bartender get tipped?
There are two options for bartender gratuities that we’ll discuss during your consultation. Depending upon your choice (and sometimes, the event venue rules), the bartender can either have a tip jar. Or, if you prefer, you can tip the bartender at the end of the event.
What kind of insurance do you carry?
The Parlor carries both Liquor and Liability insurance.
Will we be able to serve shots?
If the venue allows it, yes. We do reserve the right to refuse shot/drink service to anyone who appears to be intoxicated. This is also Colorado Liquor Law.
What do I do if I need to cancel my event?
As soon as you know that the event is cancelled call us and let us know.
Will my deposit be refunded if the event is cancelled?
Sorry, the deposit is non-refundable.
Will I be able to extend the hours of bar service after my event has started?
Yes you can extend the event hours if the party is going well. The rate per bartender is $100 per hour. If we determine there will need to be more time to allow for your event during the planning process, the rates are based on the package you selected and clearly described.
How do I add additional options to my Event Package?
Call us. Talk to us as early as possible before the event.
What are mixers and do you bring them?
A mixer is anything that transforms a spirit to a cocktail. This includes ice, juice, soda, soda water, club soda, tonic, bitters, simple syrup, garnishes (lemon, lime cherries, etc.) If you choose the Supercall or Lace packages, we bring all those items with us. If you choose the Dash package, you are responsible for providing all of those items.
Do you check ID at the party?
Yes, by law we are not able to serve anyone under the age of 21.
Can we have a self-serve station for beer and wine?
No. Colorado Law and insurance require we serve ALL if the beer/wine/cocktails at the events as hired professional bartenders.
What happens if my guests bring their own alcohol to the party?
By law and per our contract with you, your guests can only drink alcohol that we are serving. If your guests are drinking alcohol other than what we serve, we reserve the right to confiscate the alternative alcohol until the end of the event. In the case it becomes a challenge, our bartenders will stop service entirely and leave the premises. Again, The Parlor is required to follow all Colorado Liquor Laws.
